The Shipping and Receiving Bridge and Training Program 

Occupies 11,525 square feet of warehouse training space and shares 7,405 of administrative, classroom, and computer lab space with the Woodworking and Solid Surface Manufacturing Bridge Training Program.

Technological capabilities include 24-workstation computer lab and a 22-laptop Mobile Lab wired to broadband, high speed internet where students receive computer assisted instruction. 

GWTP’s Shipping and Receiving warehouses functions much like the working warehouses that future graduates will navigate upon entering employment in the transportation/distribution/logistics (TDL) industry. Participants engage in hands-on training with occupational/ industry equipment in the warehouse training classroom including: 3 industrial forklifts, electric rider pallet truck, electric order picker, manual and electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, semi-automatic stretch wrapper, and hand-held RF scanners. Participants in the Shipping and Receiving Program also receive training in computerized shipment management systems such as FedEx Ship Manager™ and UPS Worldship™. There are 7 computer stations in the warehouse, which are licensed to run fully-functional student versions of industry recognized and approved software enabling students to gain first-hand experience.
